Account Deletion

Last updated: May 2026

This page describes how to delete your account in Socrion ("Service") provided by Dmitrii Kuznetsov, Independent Developer.

You do not need to be signed in to view this page. If you have questions, contact us at legal@socrion.io.

Quick summary (for Apple App Store & Google Play reviewers):

  • In-app account deletion is available at https://app.socrion.io → Profile → Security → Delete account. This is the canonical method and satisfies Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v) and Google Play User Data Policy requirements.
  • Deletion via Option 1 is immediate — no waiting period, no support intervention required.
  • Email fallback (Option 2) at legal@socrion.io for users who lost sign-in access — 30-day verification window per GDPR Article 12(3).
  • Data export (right to data portability under GDPR Article 20) — request via legal@socrion.io.
  • This public URL is the canonical account-deletion link submitted in Google Play Console → Data Safety and referenced in our App Store Privacy Nutrition Labels.

Option 1 — In-app (recommended) — Apple & Google Compliant

This is the canonical in-app deletion method that satisfies:

  • Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v) — "Apps that support account creation must also offer account deletion within the app";
  • Google Play User Data Policy — apps must provide an in-app account deletion route and a public web URL (this page).

If you can sign in to your account:

  1. Open the Service at https://app.socrion.io (or the Telegram Mini App version) and sign in.
  2. Navigate to Profile → Security → Delete account.
  3. Confirm your identity by re-entering your password or by re-authenticating through your sign-in provider (Google, Apple, Telegram).
  4. Enter the confirmation phrase shown on the screen.
  5. Tap Delete — your account is deleted immediately from our active systems.

You will be signed out automatically after deletion. Removal from encrypted backups completes within an additional 30 days (see "Timeline" below).

Option 2 — By email

If you cannot sign in (lost access to your email, OAuth provider or Telegram), send a deletion request to:

legal@socrion.io

Subject: Account deletion

In your message, include:

  • the email address or other identifier of the account you want to delete;
  • a method of identity verification, one of:
    • send the message from the email address linked to the account;
    • provide a screenshot of your account screen with visible account details;
    • provide a copy of a government-issued ID if other verification is not possible (only on our explicit request).

We will process your request within 30 days from receipt and verification, in accordance with Article 12(3) GDPR.

What Is Deleted

When your account is deleted, we delete the following data from our active systems:

  • account credentials (email, password hash, OAuth provider identifiers);
  • profile data (display name, optional date of birth and other profile details you provided);
  • user content (questions you submitted, saved reading results, usage history);
  • support correspondence (after 3 years of inactivity, or immediately on request);
  • session cookies on your devices upon sign-out;
  • records of your consents (privacy, terms, marketing).

What Is Retained

To comply with legal obligations, we retain the following anonymised data:

  • records of payment transactions (transaction identifier, amount, date) — for 5 years as required by tax and accounting laws;
  • security logs (without identifying data) — for 90 days to protect the Service against fraud.

This retained data does not allow us to identify you and is not used for any purpose other than compliance with applicable laws.

Deletion Confirmation

When your account is successfully deleted, you will receive confirmation as follows:

  • Option 1 (in-app): an in-app confirmation screen displays the deletion timestamp, and you are signed out automatically. Where an email address was associated with the account, a confirmation email is sent within 24 hours.
  • Option 2 (email): we reply to your support email confirming completion of the deletion request.

If you do not receive confirmation within the expected timeframe, please contact legal@socrion.io.

Timeline

  • Main database: data is deleted immediately upon confirmation (Option 1) or within 30 days from receipt and verification of your request (Option 2).
  • Backups: data is removed from backups within an additional 30 days after deletion from the main database.

After these periods, your data cannot be recovered.

Consequences of Account Deletion

Account deletion is irreversible. After deletion:

  • your account and associated data cannot be recovered;
  • any unused in-service credit balance is forfeited and not refunded in cash, except as provided in our Refund Policy;
  • your reading history and other user content are permanently lost;
  • access to the Service via your deleted credentials becomes impossible.

If you wish to use the Service again in the future, you will need to create a new account.

In-App Purchases (Apple IAP / Google Play Billing)

If you purchased credits or subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, please review the following before deleting your account.

Refund of past purchases

Refund requests for store-mediated purchases are handled by the platform, not by us:

  • Apple App Store — https://reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Google Play Store — https://play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory

We can assist with disputes on a case-by-case basis under our Refund Policy, but the final decision rests with Apple or Google for store purchases.

Active subscriptions

Subscriptions managed by Apple or Google continue to bill until cancelled in your Apple ID or Google account settings, independently of your Socrion account. Cancel subscriptions through the relevant store before deleting your Socrion account.

Unused credit balance

  • Free credits (sign-up bonus, manual grants from support) — forfeited upon account deletion and not refundable.
  • Paid credits (purchased via Apple/Google IAP or other channels) — if you have an unused paid balance you wish to refund, contact legal@socrion.io before initiating account deletion. Once your account is deleted, the credit balance cannot be restored.

Automatic refunds for AI failures

If an AI-processing failure occurred recently and an automatic refund had not yet been credited at the time of deletion, contact legal@socrion.io referencing the transaction identifier — we will process the refund manually.

Your GDPR Right to Erasure

Account deletion is one way to exercise your right to erasure under Article 17 of the GDPR. Other GDPR rights (access, rectification, restriction, objection) can be exercised by contacting legal@socrion.io.

Lawful exceptions to the right to erasure include compliance with legal obligations (tax recordkeeping, accounting laws), establishment or defence of legal claims, and exercise of the right to freedom of expression and information (Article 17(3) GDPR). These are reflected in the "What Is Retained" section above.

For details, see our Privacy Policy.

Right to Data Portability

Under Article 20 of the GDPR and similar provisions in US state privacy laws, you have the right to receive a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.

To request a copy of your data before account deletion, contact us at legal@socrion.io with the subject line "Data export request". We will provide the data in JSON format (with an accompanying readable summary) within 30 days from receipt and identity verification.

Self-serve data export from your account profile is on our roadmap. Until then, please use the email request method above.

Your Rights Under US Privacy Laws

If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, Texas, or another US state with applicable privacy laws, you have the right to request deletion of your personal information under:

  • the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA) — Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.105;
  • the Colorado Privacy Act, Connecticut Data Privacy Act, Utah Consumer Privacy Act, Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and similar laws.

Account deletion through Option 1 (in-app) or Option 2 (email) above constitutes a deletion request under these laws. We do not require additional verification beyond what is described in this page.

We retain certain data (described in "What Is Retained" above) only as permitted by the statutory exceptions in those laws — in particular, for tax and accounting recordkeeping, fraud prevention, and security obligations.

You have the right to designate an authorized agent to submit a deletion request on your behalf. Contact legal@socrion.io with proof of authorization for instructions.

"Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information"

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined in the CCPA / CPRA. See our Cookies Policy and Privacy Policy for details.
